Named after a dwarf planet that orbits our solar system all the way out in the Kuiper Belt.
The odd planetoid has an elliptical shape, due to the speed at which it rotates. It takes only 4 Earth hours for it to complete a full rotation, making it the fastest-rotating object in our solar system. It's theorized that if it spun too much faster, it may break itself apart.
Haumea has two moons, named Namaka and Hi'iaka, as well as being the first known object in the Kuiper Belt to have rings.
Haumea itself is named after the Hawaiian goddess of fertility.
