Some on the Astrolab questioned as to what Swallowtail actually did. Seemingly timid and frail, he kept to himself and his papers with some even labelling them as a glutton. The reality was that he was responsible for making and keeping physical copies of the many naps used by the navigation crew. Aether dragons find paper to be a lovely snack, making their job a very difficult one as they had to make sure nobody ate his work the moment he looked away. Although shy, they were more than willing to bite those who tried to sneak a sheet. All of this culminated in him not making many friends aboard the Astrolab. When Traveller staged a (rather lacklustre) mutiny, they were quick to join her as their loyalty to the rest of the crew was frayed thin. |

On Sornieth, Swallowtail opted against joining the same crew as the other three dragons from the Astrolab and serves as the second captain of Crew B. However, he frequently tries to find excuses to visit their lab, particularly to see Traveller who they developed a small crush on.          |
