“Werewolves aren’t real,” They said. “They’re just fairy tales,” They said. “You’re not a wolf, Amatus,” They said, “Stop acting like one.”

Since Amatus was a hatchling, he was drawn to anything regarding wolves. Books, stories, statues, and of course, the beasts themselves. No one knew why he had such an intense fixation on wolves, but they thought little of it. However, one day, Amatus discovered that there was a reason for it.

Amatus knew about werewolves. He had many books about them, but just like everyone else, he didn’t believe they were real. And why would he? He had no reason to. Until he looked up at the sky on his tenth full moon… And suddenly began to feel strange. Scales fell away as fur pushed them off his body, his tongue flattened, ears emerged from between his horns… He was a werewolf.

He was forced to leave his old clan after he’d been spotted. Fortunately, in his quest to understand this new part of him, he found himself in Bianca’s library. Though he failed to hide the truth from her watchful eyes, he was surprised when instead of shooting him away, she talked with him about his wolf form and even provided him with any books she could find that may be helpful to him.

Amatus is grateful to Bianca and her clan for their acceptance of him, so he swears to use his ability to protect them from those who would discriminate not only against him, but also against any member of his new family.
