Biography
Being a wind dragon, Nethalgar was one of the rare Snappers that knew the joy of flight. With the assistance of his birth clan, he was able to fly to and fro in the Windswept Plateau. He didn't like relying on others though, wanting to travel where he wished, when he wished. Flying would be sorely missed, but his heart yearned to see the world.
Most clans on his travels didn't mind a Snapper coming around, but some didn't take kindly to him wandering into their territory. Nethalgar didn't care. He went where he wished regardless of if others wanted him there or not. Even when it came to blows, he would hunker down and refuse to move until his opponents grew too tired to continue the fight. He'd then get up, thank them for their hospitality, and wander off to see the next sight.
In his travels, near the border of the Wastes and Expanse, he found a tiny Fae hatchling wandering on her own. Asking her where her parents were led to no answer, but when he asked where she was trying to go, she pointed high into the sky, far above anything around them.
Nethalgar went to look for her parents, but as soon as he took his eyes off of her, she started crawling away as if pulled toward the heavens. He called out to no answer, and finally scooped the little Fae onto his back where she could be closer to the stars. He wasn't sure what to do, but he knew of a place that could give the Fae what she craved.
The trek back through the Wastes and the plateau was uneventful, the little Fae content to ride on his shoulder and gaze at the stars. Soon enough he found himself at the Astrolodome where the dragons there were more than happy to take such a curious little hatchling in.
The little Fae smiled at him as he bid her farewell, the stars shining in her eyes. Something about that memory drove him to help everyone he met, oftentimes regardless of if they wanted him to or not. It was dangerous and often threw him into a bind, but he enjoyed the smiles on dragon's faces when their problems were resolved.
He met many colorful characters on his travels, though most would say he was the pot calling the kettle black. Nethalgar was very much his own dragon, doing as he wanted regardless of whether or not others wanted him to. If he was sarcastic, it was impossible to tell, but much of what he said came across that way. Most dragons would say he was easy to read, but every one of them would be surprised at how he really felt.
He always believed he'd settle in the Windswept Plateau, a place where he could experience the joys of flight again. The dry and harsh Shifting Expanse was low on his list, but that's where he found himself at the end of his journey. He would never settle down completely, the draw of the world was too great, but it was nice to have a home to return to.
