The night merchant clashes with Naeroetia- their personalities are too similar, too headstrong and brash and they bristle whenever in the presence of the other, but begrudgingly do business together because money is money, and they respect each other somewhere deep beneath the overt loathing.

It's likely that they would have found others to do business with had Perzis and the cave-dwelling wildclaw not bonded so closely. Captain Zamirak is known as heartless across many seas and skies, but she begrudgingly comes back to allow her quarter master time with her 'dumb mate, or whatever it's called nowadays.'

Perhaps she remembers her own mate, and knows the value of spending what time you can with the ones you love.
