━━ biography ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Soft feathers, once striking black and white, faded. A voice lost to time. Scales turned to septic dust.

The cost of curiosity unbridled.
━━ story ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Once, Pyaemia was different. It was a scientist. Strong and proud, and ahead of its time.
It would spend hours upon hours poking and prodding through piles of research and processing theory, and what time wasn't spent researching was spent out in the field, traveling to study the strange and unfamiliar all across Sornieth.

One day, while on an extended visit to the Greatwyrm's Breach, it received a letter from its birth clan, detailing the appearance of a malignant growth within the territory. As quickly as it could, Pyaemia returned home, worried for the sake of its family-- but it was already too late.

The sprawling, beautiful behemoth of a tree that its clan had once called home was now a sickly mess, all pale porous fibers and stretching slimy tissue. Oozing pustules of greasy fluid bulged from the tree's rotting wood, occasionally popping in the heat and spraying their rancid contents into the air. And, at the heart of it all, a dark serpentine creature had made its home.

Why did this happen? How? What kind of creature could make an entire clan disappear, just like that? Consumed by grief, Pyaemia became obsessed. Day after day, it inched closer and closer to the truth-- and to its fate.
━━ notes ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
» Constantly sheds dust from its feathers. If inhaled, this dust has a dramatic effect on the respiratory system.

» Displays aggression towards anything that approaches the Copse. Its motive is unknown.
