Once upon a time, a Light dragon and an Arcane dragon were hopelessly in love. One day, they decided they wanted children. They together made a nest, using knowledge of nest building from their respective flights. This resulted in a nest made of combined magics, two eggs were laid in this nest, the combined elements resulted in one egg turning Arcane and one egg turning Light.

From the nest were born Dreadwing and Skyquake, and while as different in personality as could possibly be, you could find no siblings closer.

This is Dreadwing’s side of the story.

Ever since Dreadwing was born, he was reserved and not interested in fighting. His warrior-oriented clan and his fierce brother said otherwise. He was more interested in history and wanted to one day serve the deities, to be exalted to serve whatever deity of the Flight he would reside in at the time.

When he told his dreams to his brother, Skyquake would always seem saddened. “You’d really wanna leave me?”

Dreadwing really didn’t want to leave behind his family, and he thought it over. He took the traditional warrior path of the clan, and became their best strategist. His careful thought process and rational thinking won them many battles.

Eventually, Dreadwing grew old, too old for battle. He retired his warrior’s garb, and spent most his days happily studying. This would draw him and his brother apart, as Skyquake was not ready to put down his battling ways just yet.

And so they went their separate ways, Dreadwing would migrate to the Arcane flight to continue his studies, and Skyquake went to the Plague flight to hone his battle skills.

Dreadwing would spend many years in the libraries of the Starfall Isles, learning obscure history and facts. Once he even was able to visit the observatory itself, and read the star charts and history of the place.

One day he was wandering the area of the Crystalspine Reaches, and happened to pass by the border of the neighboring Wasteland. He had passed by this border many times, and never paid much mind to it. But today was different, today he decided he wanted to look at the view.

He sat down, and watched the stretching red-tainted land in front of him. He wasn’t sure what he was waiting for, but eventually he saw it. A familiar green and red Imperial, limping his way through the Contagion, wounded and starving.

It was Skyquake.

Immediately Dreadwing rushed over to his brother, and scolded him for his stupidity of trying to survive the Wasteland alone.

Dreadwing demanded they take shelter in a nearby secluded area, and Skyquake was too weak to argue. There they found a Fae named Shockwave, who was an alchemist. The alchemist brewed medicine to nurse Skyquake back to health, and the three became great friends over the time that they stayed.

Dreadwing would abandon his studies to stay with his brother and Shockwave, and eventually they would meet Soundwave. They would be the first members of a soon to be powerful clan.
