Manic laughter broke the night's silence, and your hair rose on end. You'd never heard a dragon this far gone before; but Genius had certainly fallen off the edge of insanity. "You all think you can kill me," Genius muttered, a few hysteric chuckles breaking his labored breathing. You and three other guards were bringing Genius away from the lair-- you feared that he wouldn't be able to contain his power much longer, and you didn't want him to explode inside the camp. It might have a shockwave strong enough to collapse your home.
His cackle rang again. "Do you? Do you really?"
You stayed silent, pulling him along with chains coated in rubber to prevent electrocution. Genius' whole body crackled with electricity that looked like it could be tearing him up from the inside, and you definitely didn't want to touch it.
"Look," he said, stopping and looking at his talons. "Look!" He grinned up at you, baring all his teeth and turning over his hands to show you. White light spilled from cracks on his hands. "I can see it in my--" he stopped and looked down at his chest, which was glowing white from the inside, brighter by the second. He looked back up at you, eyes wild, and laughed a hearty, rabid laugh. "You won't make it."
