Biography

Tropico is an eccentric forager whose pastime hobby is nurturing and crossbreeding any sort of plants. It is not uncommon for Tropico to work in tangent with alchemists, cooks, and fellow botanists alike because of his new discoveries and rare procurements. The company is always a welcome surprise for the social Bogsneak, as he certainly holds no qualms with ranting about his beloved plants, and dragons often tend to avoid him due to his zestful nature so as to move on with their own days meaning he does not often get such opportunities to talk otherwise. Personally, Tropico is perplexed by those mentalities - all work and no play and all that - but he is not so impudent as to encroach on their lives by expressing that sentiment.

The more curious dragons like to ask Tropico about the origins of the runic markings littering along his body. He always just laughs and changes the subject. He has always been bad at pretending. It is another trait of his that bad apples enjoy drawing off of to call the bogsneak "childish." But perhaps they are simply mad that he is capable enough to keep his mouth shut on secrets in spite of his exuberant demeanor.

Radically traditional Bogsneaks commonly outcast Tropico on basis of his personality and living choices not matching the quiet and antisocial norm for their kind. Tropico likes to imagine that they're just not used to friendliness from another Bogsneak. To his part, Tropico enjoys his own quiet time with his plants - much to the surprise of others - and prefers humid environments himself, but it simply is not enough to be considered "part of the species," he guesses. Tropico is not one to be bothered by the intolerance of dragons like them, though, and quickly moves on to speak with somebody else whenever he meets one of them.

Tropico resides in a large, homely tent held between two arcing trees. The tent is furnished with a plush green carpet, a pre-commissioned wood desk with imported Glow Mushrooms implanted for lighting, and a huddling of random hoarded blankets along the corner as a nest-bed. The design of the tent is splashed with colors of orange and dark green. Around the tent, alongside other plants, is an ever-present spattering of planted Dayglo Threshes that light up when Tropico and the (seemingly random) specific dragon is nearby. A calm river lies a short distance outside, and Tropico does maintenance checkups for the river every once in awhile to make sure it stays healthy.

A cycling assortment of plants are always present around and inside of Tropico's tent, whether in hanging or floor pots or even just as part of the environment. The Bogsneak sometimes cultivates a few of these plants to bring as gifts for somebody he likes, the current primary subject of these gifts being his sister, Betta, who lives just downstream in an alcove by the beach. Over time, his gifts have become a part of her den's environment entirely, a sight of which Tropico greets with great happiness every time he visits and Betta to his with a responding quiet smile.

Betta once gifted a fidget toy to him. Tropico loved it, not only from knowing Betta's struggles to show affection and how this defied that, but also because the object simply made him very happy as Betta, knowing him so well, had purposefully chosen it for. He immediately gave the toy the name "ClickClack" for the noises it made whenever he fiddled with it. Tropico tries to bring ClickClack with him whenever he goes out - which is often, both for foraging and socialization - because it has become a great comfort and source of joy for him.
