Biography
Lilly sat on top of one of the great, curving peaks of the Crystalspine Reaches. The sun was setting, and the clouds on the horizon turned the sky pinky-gold. Lilly, however, was looking towards the east, to the rest of Sornieth.
Lilly is the main researcher of the clan. She doesn't like to leave home much, preferring to read accounts of other's travels.
"You're missing a beautiful sunset," said her mate, Lyre. He was looking to the west.
"I don't mind much," Lilly said absently. "I can see the Wyrmwound from here, and a tiny bit
of Cloudsong."
Suddenly, she sat up straighter and craned her neck. There weren't many dragons in the evening
sky, and none of them were flying towards where Lilly and Lyre sat. Except for one. A pale brownish-gray Tundra with a Windcloud Miller perched on her back was soaring towards the Crystalspine Reaches.
"Lyre," Lilly whispered, "do you know that dragon?"
"Hmm?" Lyre reluctantly turned to glance to the west. "No, I've never seen them before. It looks
like they're flying our way."
"That's what I thought," Lilly agreed. "I'll go say hi. You coming?"
"I think I'll stay here." Lyre turned his attention back to the sunset. "You don't see cloud
formations like this every day."
Lilly shrugged and spread her wings, getting a running start before leaping into the air. As she
flew towards the newcomer, she realized that they looked like a traveler. She—Lilly was pretty sure that the Tundra was a female—carried all kinds of packs and pouches slung across her back and the bases of her wings, with the Windcarve Miller securely strapped in alongside a bag that looked as though it contained pottery. The dragon wore large goggles with a slight purple tint to the lenses. These were the goggles of someone who flew often, and who flew great distances.
"Hello!" Lilly called. "Who are you?"
"My name's Dove," the newcomer said. "And this is Prima." The Miller on her back waved.
"We've just arrived in the Starfall Isles," Dove continued. "And we were wondering if there are
any clans hereabouts that welcome new members."
"Why don't you come back with me?" Lilly suggested. "Our clan is pretty small right now; it's
just me and my mate, although we've got eggs hatching soon."
"That sounds lovely," Dove said. "What do you think, Prima?"
Prima shrugged. "Sounds good to me."
