Biography
Briar
seamstress | creative | withdrawn | indecisive mate: Ruin, Dorian | While her brother, Brahms, followed their parents' footsteps and performed, Briar studied under her grandmother, Annabelle. Annabelle taught her how to stitch flawless lines, craft plush toys, and even imbue her breath to heal dragons through patchwork. Briar absorbed these lessons and soon matched Annabelle's abilities, but she also developed her own skills and passions. While Annabelle focused on patchwork healing and mending, Briar preferred making garments. She dreamed of releasing her own collection that dragons from all over Sorneith would seek out. When she came of age, she cloistered herself away, determined to make an ensemble worthy of her debut. For hours she would work, so still that spiders built webs in her wings, companions that Briar welcomed as she saw herself in their own industrious natures. Outside dragons assumed her trance-like state stemmed from intense focus but few realized inner turmoil drove her. For Briar crafted many fine pieces but each varied wildly from the last. On the same day she'd craft a dainty pinky ribbon and a leather studded belt, her heads unable to agree on a direction for her collection. She confided her struggles to Annabelle and she responded in laughter. She went onto explain that such contradictions should be embraced rather than fought. Her differences made her unique and with them, she could create a style all her own. Annabelle left her with these words, and Briar increased her work twofold. Inspired, she combined the pink ribbon with the hardy leather, utilized both lace and studs, and even created tiny plush accessories as Annabelle taught her. Finally, she had an ensemble that she could be proud of, on that embraced both facets of her personality, coming together to create something truly unique. She donned her creation and emerged from her workshop. She paraded around the Sanctuary and dragons stared in awe. None of them had seen such a unique piece and they begged for garments of their own to which Briar was happy to oblige. She continues her craft to this day, creating new ensembles and assisting Annabelle in her patchwork craft. She ensures that the Sanctuary is one of the most fashionable clans in the Scarred Wasteland and every dragon can don garments uniquely them.
