The gods that blessed Poe were having a very off day. That's the joke that he flings out when asked about his untimely blessing. "Or cursing!" He'll always laugh back. But those that knows him best recognise the bite of frustration and anger behind his jovial nature.

Poe was raised as a hunter's apprentice - always at one with the trees and shrubs, rising with the sun and sleeping only when the day's work was done. When the spirits passed him by while the other hatchlings of his summer were not, Poe was not angry, he was relieved! He could continue his life in the forests, hunting and gathering, no one around for miles but himself and the whisperings of the wind. Unfortunately for him, Poe was living proof of the spirit world's fickle nature, and he found himself untimely blessed by a minor fire spirit only a few winters later. A Nature spirit - or Earth, maybe - would have been less insulting to him. But fire? Completely unnatural. All of a sudden, tests needed to be ran, his spirit needed to be tamed, training needed to begin! Poeliterally couldn't think of anything worse.

Vox was quick to scoop the emotionally vulnerable Wildclaw up and take him under his wing. Through the guidance of the great flame mage, Poe quickly learnt to control his power, and under Vox's protection, Poe was safe to continue his day to day activities as he always did, as long as he returned for an hour's training before sundown and brought a tasty snack back for his mentor.
