may pair with horror for some funky salmon kids (may change horrors tert to get better ratio of sailfin kids)
if i did want to do this i might look into making a lineage for them? kinda like how theres at least one chrysalis fandragon lineage out there

so i'd probably give them some base lore based around salmonids and have it be that gen 1 (these 2) are the matriarch/patriarch/emperors etc of a salmonid school
i... might quickly workshop the potential lore for this actually real quick im getting some inspiration

it could also potentially have an aspect of subspecies to it?
also when (and that *is* a when, not an if) we get more king salmonids i'll make them into fandragons as well to add to the collection... i may actually wait though before going through with this until we see more because i may be able to create whatever the next 2 are and then they fit way better with these two than they did with each other or something.
also i currently cannot make several classes of boss salmonids from these guys so thats another thing

The King Salmons School (or something like that) wrote:
With the rise of ancients comes the rediscovery of civilizations long forgotten.

This subspecies of Undertide in particular are known for their battle prowess, ability to withstand harsh environments, and their salmon-like appearances. (something about them not fearing death and seeing being eaten as the highest form of respect or being one with the world)

They have a fierce rivalry with the neighboring groups of cephalopod-like dragons due to a long standing feud between the different species. (something about some schools having tense/uneasy peace treaties or something like that, and a few having alliances with some groups - calling to the salmonid octarian alliance. probably something about this group in particular having mixed views on it, attacking most they see but also having a deal with a nearby group thats totally not my other splatoon fandragons)

(lore specific, something about them leaving the spawning grounds in search for their new home, usually away from their birth schools so they may grow and develop into one of the many coveted classes. will they find a home with you or something like that)

CLASSES
The class of Salmonid a Smallfry will eventually grow into is all based on the conditions and environment they faced while young. Some may not even grow past the Smallfry phase, while one may go on to grow to be a Goldie given the right conditions. The usual rule is the harsher the conditions, the more likely they are to become a Boss Salmonid.

There are several classes of Salmonid;

>Lessers - The majority of Salmonids, these include Smallfry (those who haven't grown and those who have stayed in that form), Chum, Cohocks, Snatchers and Chinooks.

>Bosses - Those that have experienced harsher conditions than their Lesser counterparts, and have matured into one of these forms. Are usually distinguished by their vastly different appearances to their Lesser counterparts, or a higher intelligence allowing them to pilot octarian-made machinery. These include Steelheads, Steel Eels, Maws, Stingers, Drizzlers, Flipper-Floppers, Big Shots, Slammin' Lids, Goldies, as well as slight outliers in the Flyfish (specialized Smallfry) and Fish-Sticks (young or partially matured Stingers).

>King - How this class comes to be is still relatively unknown, but is likely some combination of their environments (likely being some other class before transcending to the King class, as evident in the two known types and their resemblances to other classes), mixed with the Salmonids hierarchy as this class is usually the leader of their respective schools. Unlike their smaller class counterparts, these Salmonids have the strange quirk in being able to replicate different abilities that resemble various cephalopod special moves. There are currently only two known types; Cohozunas (resembles a Cohock, is able to perform "Splashdowns") and Horrorboros' (resembles a Stinger, is able to perform Booyah Bombs, in a way not to dissimilar to a Steelhead).

TITLES
All Salmonids have a title, with the contents differing from individual to individual. One may have a title that reflects the school they spawned from, while another may reflect their role within their school.

NAMES
Whether a Salmonid has a definitive name also differs from individual to individual. You may find that one prefers going by their title, derives their name from their title, has a food related name, or something completely different and unrelated altogether. The (insert lineage name) school in particular tends to either use their title in some way as their name (with examples of Crash or Slink), or name themselves after various food items (such as the case of Soup)

(basically leaving titles and names up to the owner, but if i can come up with some sort of title naming convention i may give the offspring premade titles? or something to work off of if this were to get off of the ground or something idk)

classes would probably be left up to owners for lore purposes but i may go the subspecies route and plan out vague points of reference for each class?
it wouldnt be set in stone like "oh steel eels can only be x/x/x" because for one thats boring and limiting and 2 this is a lineage not an actual subspecies and also again thats boring
as someone who focuses on g1s and would be using g1s for this and as such cannot get better ranges for specific combos i want this to be a lot more open. it'd be more of a "here are some colours that fit this class" with it being open to "if you feel this dragon fits that class then go for it" (ie i may give black and charcoal as potential steelhead colours but maybe someone gets one thats obsidian and it looks like a steelhead so there
itd also mainly just be like, it doesnt have to be x or y/z or a/b or c only, it could be x/d/l or something like that as long as it still fits the vibe
