These animals are most commonly found in North America and have a nickname of trash pandas. They engage in gender specific behaviors social behaviors and are not solitary creatures as once thought. Females live together in groups where they share a common area and meet at feeding or resting grounds. The unrelated males live together in loose groups to safeguard their position against foreign males during mating season.

Studies shown that 1/3 of all females mated with more than one male during their mating period. These creatures can be in gestation for 63-65 days to give birth to a litter of 2-5. They are typically weaned around 16 weeks and some choose to stay around the mother for some time.
