Juno

Scribbling and scraping ceases from behind a creaking, heavy mahogany door. The sweet smell of old paper floods your senses as one last shove opens up a library of stories ready to be heard. To the left, a worn oak desk shows its age in faded grain, discarded chair angled away from the ink and quill that not seconds before was scribing on parchment bound by cured leather. Standing in front of the chair, not a leg's stride away from its craft stood a wyrm boasting two heads, six limbs, and a pair of tails.

Surprised to see company in its little corner of the world, it waves tenuously. "Hello, stranger... are you... lost? Seeking shelter from the wilds?" One head offers a kind smile, whilst the other bears its head high and looks upon you in disdain.

"Owlcat got your tongue?" the second asks as you forget to answer in awe. Too busy looking at their glimmering fur and glistening, ragged wings. A chunky caterpillar worms its way from between two shelves in the back, looks at you, and wiggles happily. Crawling as its feet undulated in wavelike motions, it bonked its head on your shins affectionately. Sweet thing... You pick it up as it paws at your feet, giving it a squish to which it croons at.

"Welcome to our little home," the first interjects, not giving you time to find your voice, "we write stories delivered by the magic's voice, heard by attuning yourself to the network of Arcane auras. Through scrying, and a little imagination, all this," it gestures to the collection of books, "was made possible. I'd be happy to share some food and drink, and a little something to read, if you like. Feel free to stay a little while!"

"Please don't," the cynical half remarked.

"Continue on this way," they gestured after a moment's hesitation between them. "Just... don't ruin the pages."

"Yes, under any circumstances damage to the paper cannot happen." It turns around. "Nod if you understand, interloper."

You nod, and get lost in the Archive...
