Biography
Taffy's Story I
Taffy remembered before, but Moose didn't, Moose thought that he had always been here, in the swamp. When they were alone together Moose didn't understand that it wasn't how things were supposed to be, not that Taffy really knew how it was supposed to be either, just that it... wasn't wandering around alone, cold and hungry.
Taffy remembered meeting Octavian perfectly, he had stumbled across them when they were resting in a cleaning that had been safe as far as he could remember. Octavian had seemed... confused when he met the pair of Hatchlings.
Octavian wouldn't leave them for the moment, Taffy was waiting for the adult to get bored, and Moose seemed to genuinely think that he was going to stay. Taffy wasn't like Moose, he didn't think things were good, and he didn't think Octavian would stay. Taffy had a mother and father, and here he was in a swamp. Octavian wasn't even his real dad anyway, just like no matter how much Moose wanted them to be brothers, Taffy and Moose would never be real brothers.
He was frustrated, how long was Octavian going to play pretend? Pretend they were his clutch? Pretend he needed to be here? Pretend they were normal? Taffy knew he wouldn't grow up, just like he knew he was stuck here forever. He was a burden to Octavian, and whatever Octavian thought he would get out of playing pretend was never going to come.
Myria was fun. She didn't act like she was his mom, she didn't act like they were her clutch, and she didn't hide her intentions from him. She wanted to have fun, that was something Taffy wanted. They both got something from being friends, he finally had someone he could be something other than a burden to. It was nice to have an adult around who didn't see him as a responsibility.
