....................While the Sundial had many sons and daughters- all held in high regard, though some more respected and revered than others- there circulated a curious rumour that the Sundial had a favourite amongst his children. A daughter who, though hailing from a branch family far distanced from the usual status and prestige those of the main family were privy to, had nonetheless gained sufficient favour from the Sundial to be looked upon by him with distinct, unmistakable fondness: The CENSORED Pearl.

Wait! Say not her name! Names are strange things. Powerful things. To call something by its name is to invoke its power, and all who dare call the CENSORED Pearl by her true name, even if but a single instance of utterance, even if voiced barely above a whisper, shall vanish, disappear and cease to exist.
Perhaps one might be tempted to conclude that such are merely unsubstantiated superstitions. A superfluous fallacy which had resulted from a mistful hallucination of a delusional mind. One might perhaps be correct. After all, the recollections of how those who utter the CENSORED Pearl’s name have come to be erased are many and varied. One speculates that the CENSORED Pearl’s name might be charmed or enchanted of sorts, and the simple act of vocalising her name is the catalyst for a spell which removes its caster from existence and reality altogether. Another tells of the CENSORED Pearl becoming so scorned by those who speak her name that she herself will seek out the treacherous, duplicitous offender in the dark and deliver their soul straight into the eternal nothingness of the afterlife. Yes, there is always a possibility that such tales are merely rumours, stories, a peculiar narrative serving little purpose other than to humour and unnerve its listener… But is one willing to take the risk of the complete and total annihilation of one’s existence to prove one’s theory?

Outside of the unusual mysticism surrounding her name, in the battlefield, the CENSORED Pearl plays a more supportive role than her other, more battle-proficient brethren on the frontlines. Yet, do not mistake this as a sign of her weakness. Should one, through some sort of sheer will or by some form of freak accident, manage to break through the impregnable barrier formed by the Sundial’s other kin, the CENSORED Pearl shall undoubtedly avoid her assailant with swift and clever nimbleness, all the while vying for the opportunity to turn the tables on the aggressor in such a quick and unbelievable fashion that it should leave all but the CENSORED Pearl herself stunned.

Thus, one has been warned… Tread carefully, before attempting to approach the CENSORED Pearl… And think with even more care still, before attempting to utter her name.
