Biography

Carvet
He/They
Rogue vagabond
Quick to distrust and last to introduce himself.

Middle aged-to-older man that's lived through a lot of strife in his younger years. Used to be a mercenary-for-hire, doing odd jobs wherever he could find them. He spent the vast majority of his time in The Godsless Lands, occasionally drifting into Empire territory (to his absolute disdain) when he was particularly desperate work.

One autumn day, Carvet was hired by a professor at a college in Esbonton to protect a group of archeologists who had set out to excavate the remains of a city-town lost in the God Wars. The idea of helping a bunch of spoiled empirian school-folk poke and prod at the corpse of a city, fallen at the hands of the Empire itself, was revolting to him. But the pay was good and he was too low on coin to afford holding to his morals.

It was on this expedition that Carvet met Talhea. Unlike the other fresh faced, wet eared "archeologists" who took his taciturnity as an invitation to ask every dumb-brained question under the sun, Talhea stood out with her silence. She was the furthest back in the group, and the last one to speak when conversations arose. He found himself walking along side her throughout the duration of the journey to the site.

What would have been an incredibly mind-numbingly boring escort exploded into chaos quicker than Carvet could blink. In one breath, the fledgling archeologists were plucking away at the dirt of a site, and in the next being slashed at with swords and daggers. The attackers were as vicious as they were sudden, and an unlucky few deepest in the digsite weren't able to put much of a fight. He recognized them as from a guild of mercenaries, infamous for their particular absence of morality... (WIP)
