Xang is a somewhat mysterious member of the commune. He often disappears for weeks at a time, but when he returns, he always brings back treasures from the other side of Sornieth. When asked how he procured these items despite never requesting funds from the communal hoard, he always smiles slyly and shrugs, choosing not to elaborate. He joined quietly, simply arriving one day and building a den within the commune limits. Some dragons (Bertrada) were particularly suspicious because of his standoffish nature and general secrecy. He didn't really make small talk, he rarely frequented communal spaces, and he kept to himself almost completely. Eventually, people got used to his odd attitude. As the years go by he does let himself go out and about a bit, and he's made a few very casual friends among the clan. He can be surprisingly charming when he wants to be, and his grin has a quality about it that puts you naturally at ease. He's the kind of dragon who seems like he always knows what he's talking about (even when he definitely, definitely doesn't). Despite having a few friends, Modemus, Hera, and Marcel particularly, no one in the clan has ever seen the inside of his den. He's very protective over it and even goes as far as to board it up while he's away. Any dragon who dares attempt to wiggle in any way will be met with a nasty trap- nothing deadly, but you'll be sorry you ever tried. Hatchlings make up all kinds of stories about what terrors or valuables might be held within. When he is around and not off on some expedition, he usually seems pretty exhausted. He spends a lot of time resting in his den or out in the patches of moss that are throughout the commune. He loves the sun, and will even lay on top of his den to bask. He's also quite familiar with the medical ward and often comes back injured. He always plays it off, but really! He puts Hera and Haeleta to the test. Hera finds this amusing, and sometimes a fun challenge. Haeleta finds it exceedingly stressful. Much of his time "resting" would be more accurately described as healing. While he keeps to himself, he also contributes money and valuables to the clan, even if they're of dubious origin. He does care for his home immensely and appreciates that people don't ask him too many questions. |
