Biography

Makila the Surgeon

"What seems to ail you today? I hope nothing drastic, but the fantastical is fun."

Makila came to the Glaliel clan as an abandoned Plague Egg. It seemed to be nestled amongst the fallen leaves of the Starwood Strand, just a mile away from the Wandering Contagion. The grass amongst the ground was rotting around the small egg, causing concern for Shinrin the Starwood Guardian roaming that night. With a careful claw she scooped up the egg into a basket and left it at the Glaliel clan doorstep so to speak.

Lorelai, upon discovering the egg, had trepidations. She and the rest of her clan often focused on growing and strengthening the land around them- and so she turned to Aerglo, her out of clan collector of sorts. He soothed her concerns, explaining that while the nature of Plague is to spread rot many use these diseases to learn more about how to help others. With his comforting words, she entrusted the egg to him and Elara.

Once she burst forth, she rapidly grew. Surrounded by badges, shiny things, and books- her life was one of scholarly and collecting pursuits. Elara tried her hardest to teach her about anything and everything pertinent. Makila's favorite subject became blatantly apparent, Anatomy and Pathology. As a hatchling she often would get scolded by her overseers for playing with her food.

Within Sylvar's library she often read anything and everything she could about diseases and afflictions from all sorts of sources. And as she prepared for adulthood, she trained heavily with Elara and Aerglo to keep her safe from those who may wish her harm. When she grew larger, strong enough to fight on her own, she loved to collect anything and everything that could be used to help against afflictions. Gems, herbs, and more! Her nature twisted into a wicked curiosity about what makes people tick and use it for good.

Now grown up, Makila's job is to be the resident surgeon and doctor of sorts for the clan. While Toki might be more gentle in nature with her own healing magic, Makila specializes in bigger problems that magic alone can't solve. Between battle wounds, arcanic ailments, and mysterious ailments, Makila strives to know them all.
