If one were to describe Galdur's childhood in one word, it would be troubled. Hailing from the Wistful Woods Clan in the Starwood Strand, he and his sister Elysia were descendants of the Glitch Queen herself, Naomi. Their mother, also a descendant, was an anguished witch named Katsura who was obsessed with finding what was wrong with her soul, while their father was an obsessive collector of cursed items with an equally cursed name of Strange. Their mother wracked with desperation, made a gambit with Collector Strange before their conception. Her blood, freedom, and the blood of her future children for the two Cursed Talonclasp Pendants in his collection. He happily agreed as he knew there was nothing more accursed than the blood of a Naomi Descendant, which would be a lovely addition to his collection. When the siblings were born, their mother performed the ritual, which failed spectacularly. Instead of binding the sibling's souls to their respective pendants so she could experiment with them, the souls tied to each other using them as foci creating a soul bond. The pendants couldn't be removed as they seemed to have fused to them. Later experiments would reveal that if one were to remove them, it could mean death to both siblings as a whole. Their mother realizing she was trapped and desperate for some answer, kept the siblings locked up in her lair. And that is how Galdur and his sister grew up—trapped in a damp cave, waking every day to a series of experiments, tests that would be preceded by lectures about the history and world of Sornieth. They grew up trusting only each other, that and the Arcanist, which their latent magic allowed them to perceive in the environment around them.

Eventually, they would escape. A series of coincidences allowed Galdur and Elysia to taste freedom for the first time in their lives finally. However, the happiness was short-lived as the chase was on. The young drakes had to out-maneuver their much more experienced and older parents through an unfamiliar environment. They had to learn how to hunt, forage and gather to survive. The atmosphere was tense, Galdur barely getting a wink of sleep as he stood to watch over his younger sibling. They traveled, leading them North-East through the treacherous Scarred Wasteland to Dragonhome. Once amidst the arid desert, the siblings hoped their obsessive parents gave up. But the anxiety never went away.
In the shattered wasteland, Galdur and his sister encountered a small village. A camp of early settlers claimed they were led by a red deer of all weird things and that they worshiped a strange-faced god that protected them from hardship. Galdur never believed in such frivolities while his sister went to speak with whatever the thing was. She came back...changed would be the best way to describe it. Unlike her, she proclaimed that we should stay here as the entity Circe would protect us. Galdur hesitantly agreed although he was under the impression that this was a prolonged temporary stay, not a forever home. This eventually would lead to a nasty argument between the siblings, but for now, they settled. He befriended the local tundra Everglade, and she taught him how to fight and how to use these gifts they were raised to be considered wrong as weapons. With this found power, Galdur grew confident. For the first time, he felt protected and secure from the anxiety of fighting a greater foe. With this confidence, he went to his sibling, ready to leave for new lands. She refused, and they argued and fought. He didn't understand why she wanted to stay. Staying means being shackled; it meant servitude, and it would be easier for them to be caught. Even still, she refused. And so they split ways. For the first time, the siblings went their separate ways.
And so Galdur flew. He confidently traveled the arid desert, although the desert sun soon taught him that his confidence evolved into arrogance as he found himself lying on the dry wasteland dying of thirst. When he felt all was lost, his life being sapped out of him, he felt his jaws pried open and the most refreshing water thrust down his gullet. He gulped it greedily down his eyes, focusing on his rescuer. The Skydancer looked down at him, unimpressed. When he could stand on his four legs, the merchant introduced themselves as Abha and handed him a bill. Having no penny to his name as he stormed out fast enough to gather gold only for a measly scrap of meat, Galdur could only cough awkwardly and tell them he couldn't afford their rates. Displeased and proclaiming he owes them a life debt, the Merchant Abha hired him as an assistant to help sell their Gladevein Water. And so, being out of options and needing some direction, he accepted. Traveling with Abha around the barren landscapes of Sornieth, eventually stopping at a quaint coastal village of Lanternlea Port.
Sometimes, when the stars shine brightly on the darkest nights, he touches his pendant, which pulsates warmly against his chest—yearning for his second half.

He and his sister are exact opposites. Galdur, unlike his sister, is bombastic and brave. A fiery personality lurks in the blackberry sheen of his scales. While she is as calm as still waters, he is the monsoon. They were made of the same element yet much different in execution. Although the one thing both of them share is their curiosity. Born from their close connection to the Arcanist magic during their development, their nocturne instincts led them to instill a sense of deep-seated curiosity permanently. No matter what other personality they adopt, that drive to investigate will always be there. So potent it might kill both one day. However, his traveling with Abha has caused an energetic snake oil salesman personality to flourish.
One of his prized possession is the Cursed Talonclasp Pendant. He's unable to get rid of it but has grown attached to it differently. Now the pendant is a physical reminder of his other half. The joy of the connection and the guilt of the argument. His other two priceless relics are a rusted Stardust Sap lamp and a Mirror. The latter was given as a joke present from Abha after the anniversary of their meeting. He hasn't let go of it since. The sap lamp...Well. This sap lamp was their only light source when he and his sister were locked up in the cave. He hasn't let it go, even to this day. On days when the pendant weighs heavily on his neck, he ignites it, watching the eerie blue light.

R E L A T I O N S
While he has an abysmal relationship with his parents, he despises both from the bottom of his heart. He has a far more profound hatred of his father than his mother. Collector Strange is a man of business at his heart. And while Galdur can understand his mother's actions (understand, not forgive), his father is a far more deplorable man. Using Katsura's desperation to gain access to him and Elysia makes him shudder with rage.
Galdur loves his sister. They are platonic soulmates; after all, their souls are bound by the thread of fate and old powerful magic. His sister is his first family; he still yearns for her as a brother. He has so much to say to apologize to her, but he never has the time nor knows the right words when he gets close. He always knows her direction, and on the days when the argument replays in his mind, Abha often finds him facing that direction, pointing like a compass.
Galdur enjoys Abha's company. They have taught him the ropes of understanding economics and the skills necessary to become a successful merchant. She was the second stranger he shared the secret of his cursed blood. She didn't bat an eye and asked if it was suitable for scamming dragons out of their well-earned cash. That gesture alone made Galdur value Abha as a close friend. Almost like a sister...
