Biography

Storyteller's Strings
Another clan, another tavern. Revyn sits down at a table deep within the building after grabbing a snack from the bar. The tavern is pretty full, exactly how he likes to see it. After eating his meal, he sits back and picks up his lute. Immediately, ears around him perk up. Revyn doesn’t even play a song, he just mindlessly strums the strings to himself. To attract a crowd, of course. That’s why he left his plate at the other side of the table too. Eventually, a waitress approaches him. “Are you a bard, traveler?”, she asks him. “I am.”, Revyn replies, with a soft smile. “Please play us all a tune! We will pay you in coin!”

Just as expected.

The waitress and a considerable amount of guests all gather around him. And Revyn asks the question he always asks before performing: “What are you in the mood for tonight?” The waitress giggles and replies: “A love song.” Revyn smiles at her, bigger and brighter this time. And he starts to play and starts to sing.

A beautiful tale of two lovers destined to always be apart. Their clans are at war with each other, but somehow they fall in love. They try to stay together, but there is nothing that they can do to stop the war. Then, in a sequence of events, one of the lovers slays the other’s father in battle. They try to apologize, but their lover is inconsolable. As they get too close, the two armies spot them, and both are killed in the resulting skirmish.

As Revyn plays the last notes on his lute, he sees his audience in awe and in tears. There’s a moment of silence, before the crowd explodes in cheers and applause. His plate gets filled up with whatever treasure or gems the audience has to spare and Revyn thanks each and every one of them. The waitress thanks him for playing such a beautiful tale, with tears rolling down her face.

And then, after the moment passes, calmth returns to the tavern. Revyn collects his riches and heads off to bed. He’s traveling to the next clan tomorrow morning, better be in bed early.
