A BLESSING FROM Shogo
"Hyde, from "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde", written by Robert Louis Stevenson, was the violent, brutal, animalistic side of the multiple personality that the main character developed."

ABOUT
Pronouns: She/Her
Orientation: Pansexual, Polyamorous
PERSONALITY
Hyde does not like to socialize much, often tucked away in her cauldron room where one can find her if they so need. If one still takes the chance of finding her for a chat they will quickly discover her horrid sense of humor. She has made many jokes about throwing items, pearls, and entire dragons into her stew, and has eaten many a toxic item in front of horrified guests.
BACKGROUND
Born under the Plaguebringer, raised under the Arcanist, and interested in the work of the Stormcaller, the mess of deities that make up her existance sums up her personality as well. She holds a grisly fascination with the workings of life and death, and how they can be produced through alchemical means. This has developed into a nasty habit of boiling things alive in her cauldron.
She came to The Gentleman's Clan from the Starfall Isles with her body intact. She took up the mantle as the resident mad scientist with much gusto, pouring her time and energy into exploring the ingredients of death and decay in organic matter. Her work included the investigation of combining healing potions with deadly diseases from the Scarred Wasteland. Unable to find anyone willing to try out her concoction, the imperial consumed it herself. It was less than a day before her body began to fail her.
Obsidius and Hanky worked in tandem to save Hyde's life, marrying medicine and mechanisms to replace her dying organic limbs with ones made of wires and metal. The operations came one at a time, brought to her as she lay uselessly tucked beside her cauldron, wistful to return to her science.
The transformation was a spectacular success. With lightning-powered legs to fuel her stride and thunder coursing through her very spine, she now walked as a part robot, part dragon. Her plague magics were either gone or scant, replaced by the machinery now running her body. Perks also include throwing lightning at her experiments for fun and sport, and being able to identify most chemicals by simply chewing on the object in question.
JOB
Hyde brews most of the potions used by The Gentleman's Clan, assisted by her lovely assistant Charm, who also monitors the imperial to make sure she doesn't switch potions with poisons on accident (or on purpose).
Hyde is also visited by the clan's food collectors in order to identify the toxicity of certain items. This is done by chewing them and listing out their chemicals for Charm to transcribe, before chasing down anything toxic with a handful of herbal plantains. In return she recieves a portion of what's brought to her, either as ingredients for more potions or to boil into indiscernible but edible paste.
Relationships
Charm
Charm works as Hyde's assistant and is never far from Hyde's chambers in case of wayward experimentation. Hyde finds her absolutely adorable and is one of the few dragons Hyde has never joked about throwing into a stew.
Ramba
Although unable to properly procreate with her assistant, Hyde has found that pleasure with Ramba on several occasions. Their relationship is strictly physical in nature.
Obsidius
As the clan's resident physician, Obsidius is in charge of Hyde's check ups. Hyde enjoys them immensely, if only to delight in the guardian's exasperation at her cullinary misconducts.
Hanky
Like with Obsidius, Hyde must make frequent visits to Hyde to maintain the robotic half of her body. Hanky considers Hyde a great success, and although he expresses concerns for her dietary habits is fascinated by her discoveries. He was the one who gave her those enhanced tastebuds, after all.
Terra
Terra stumbled onto Hyde and Charm when she was very young. Despite being terrified of Hyde, she remained to be taught the ways of potion-making, exchanging favors for recipes and access to Hyde's cauldron to practice.
Tor
Tor is even more of a menace than Hyde, but at least he cooks better.
FAMILIAR
Expo - Awakened Expo helps keep Hyde running and, along with Charm, assists Hyde in her work. It is assumed that these are the only reasons that it has yet to be boiled down itself. There may be some truth to that, but Hyde also finds him charming. |
PERSONAL HOARD
Liquified Familiars
They used to be alive. Now they are ingredients.
Barrel of Herbal Plantain
With her habit of consuming large amounts of toxic materials, Hyde has taken to chasing them down with the leaves of this medicinal plant to counteract anything deadly, but only after proven toxic.
