Biography
Zariel, the Heir
Zariel is the son of Ursura and Aeria and is the sole heir to the throne of leadership for the Empire of Vigilants. However, he was not their first son. In fact, before he was born, he had a brother named Diapha who would've been the leader had he not died mysteriously. Zariel is constantly aware of this fact and feels a bit of imposter syndrome, thinking that his brother should still be alive and the true heir to the clan. He has no faith in his skills and it shows, with more than one dragon eyeing the throne that'll soon be open for the taking...
Zariel didn't have many friends growing up, though his parents and a couple of the older dragons were kind to him. He always had an interest in the research that Aristotle devoted his life to and would often sneak outside his den to go meet with him. Eventually, these meetings became more frequent and solidified the alliance between him, Aristotle, and eventually Sirius and Remilyn. However, that is not the only secret he hid from his clan. In fact, he met with another Fae dragon outside the clan, hailing all the way from the Tangled Wood. The two of them fell in love and had a forbidden romance, which Ursura eventually found out about; he was furious about his son falling in love with a Shadow Flight dragon. Zariel's hidden lover ended up murdered, and while he knows Ursura didn't do it, he was certain his father had at least something to do with it. To his dismay, Zariel finds out that his late lover has hatched one surviving daughter who has since then been forced into hiding.
Nowadays, Zariel mainly groups up with his small friend group of Aristotle, Sirius, and reluctantly, Remilyn. He and Aristotle especially have been delving into research about the Shade, and have found multiple leads, including a seemingly abandoned Imperial burial site. The two of them decided to keep this burial site a secret for the time being, not knowing that eyes were watching them... Exmoor. Oh, how the Spiral grinned at the sight of the heir hiding such a valuable secret from the clan. He flew back to camp, failing to notice the red eyes which have noticed him...
