The son of an innkeeper and a mage.

He loved them as a hatchling, as most children adore their parents. He hadn't questioned why his previous nestmates (cousins and siblings alike) had his name.

They all were Seastar. All but two.

He didn't mind that his parents were always too busy, always distracted, always praying. That was surely what he was also supposed to do when he got as old as them! He hadn't even minded that his mother was always with another Bogsneak instead of his father; weren't they mates? Didn't they love each other enough to have him and his older sister?

It didn't matter! Of course they did, they were just busy with their own duties. No time to dwell on that when the wide sunny world called out to Seastar and he gamboled and frolicked the reefs and beaches of Water territory.

A rambunctious little potato, as his previous clan had affectionately referred to him as, Seastar loves his life...until his sixth hatchday celebration. His sixth hatchday made him an adult! He was excited to assist the clan in day to day life, perhaps prophecy reading or assisting their Maren allies! Perhaps fishing or record keeping?

But his parents volunteered him for Exalt.

They abandoned him to an absent deity. A god that didn't even care enough about his children to return to his panicked and mourning brood.

They hadn't even asked; he'd been slated for this before he was even formed in the egg.

Seastar was betrayed, bereft, horrified. Surrounded by other dragons, mature and grizzled adults bedside even newly hatched babies, still covered in eggshell.

They were alone. They were all alone and Seastar raged.

It's no surprise the Snapper found himself easy prey for Sunshadow and his ideals. Seastar is the Veilspun's most loyal follower, devout and dedicated to the utter eradication of the Twelve and all those dragons so focused on the heavens that they forsake those right beside them.

We all know that a Snapper never rests. Let alone forgets.
