Biography
Mock Orange: The Plague Flight
“While one might expect something putrid or toxic to refer to the Plague flight, it is instead the unassuming mock orange flower that is used. While it is possible that the flower was chosen due to the rare, hardy strain of mock orange that grows along the rim of the Wyrmwound, I argue that this is only partially true. There are numerous myths from early Plague and Nature clans that feature this tree, harkening it to a symbol of sisterly love - while this association is likely itself due to its prevalence both around the Wyrmwound and in the Shrieking Wilds, the underlying connotation of a sisterly connection is a testament to the intricacies of the seemingly simple language.
Though the mock orange symbol is always shown with a uniform amount of petals - four - the position of the leaf drastically changes the meaning of the symbol.
Mock orange leaf positions:
- Lower left - Truce: Mock orange with a leaf to the lower right of the symbol indicates peaceful, permitted Plague presence. These dragons are not considered to be an active threat, and should be met without violence.
- Lower right - Unknown: Plague fight presence that is unexpected or unrecorded; it is advised to approach with caution and suspicion.
- Upper left - Run: These dragons are actively hostile and considered extremely dangerous; Nature flight members are advised to flee and seek safety.
- Upper right - Attack: These dragons are actively hostile and should be driven out of Nature territory; attack if seen.”
