Biography

Charonia
-She/Her-

A single Undertide egg went on quite the journey before hatching. With the Undertides having newly emerged from The Deep, their nests proved to be a popular target for various aquatic predators. One such creature carried off this egg, planning to return for the rest, but was ambushed by bigger beast with no such taste for eggs. The egg hatched alone and unprotected.

The baby undertide had yet to open their eyes, and had been drifting in the currents when they got tangled up in a fishing trawl. Hoisted from the water and covered in fish, they were brought to the land, far from where the hatchling had been before. That is when a certain fisher realized that she had made a big mistake.

“Uh oh. This is not a fish…”

Seastrider accidentally fished up the hatchling and once she got to shore, she panicked. She tried to inquire about any parents the little one had, but they were so young they couldn’t answer. Instead she asked her friend Verna—who works with hatchlings—what she should do. At this point in time, Undertides had only recently returned to the modern world, and the frazzled Skydancer had no clue how to care for hatchlings, much less a long forgotten ancient one!

Thankfully Verna was more level headed. Being the clan’s caretaker, she agreed to care for the Undertide since Seastrider worked so much to provide the clan with fish. And honestly, her friend was terrible with hatchlings, so it was for the best. But that didn’t stop the young dragon from following Seastrider around whenever she came ashore.

Seastrider and Verna decided to name her Charonia after their search for her parents turned up nothing, and the two friends winded up accidentally sort of adopting her. Whoops.

Name comes from a genus of giant sea snails. They have cool lookin shells.
