written by BubblyOstrich Ethera pacing nervously around the waiting room. Someone wanted to take her! She couldn't believe this was happening. She'll get to learn! And swim! And finally, finally, finally, the adopter came. She was a ferocious-looking Aether, and she had scratches here and there. For a moment, Ethera feared that her leader might by harsh and power-hungry. But the aether looked at Ethra and shot her a grin. "Hi! Are you Ethera?" The Aether asked. "I'm Atalanta, and I'm not the clan leader, but the warrior. The clan leader is Delta." She must've noticed the worried look on Ethera, because she added, "Don't worry. The Starmist Lake is a safe and happy place to live. You'll love it here! And Delta is really friendly!" And Ethera's stiffed wings relaxed, just a bit. She knew it was going to be all right, and she was ready for anything. The moment she walked in, everyone looked at her. Then the dragons smiled at her warmly and said stuff like "Hi!","Welcome!" Then, a sleek, elegant Skydancer came in. "You're Ethera, right?" When Ethera nodded, the Skydancer said, "Terrific! Welcome to the Tidesong Reef. I'm Delta." Ethera completely relaxed. The Tidesong Reef was the opposite of the Southern Icefields, where was a freezing, terrible place to live. Suddenly, Ethera realized that she was STARVING. She was too nervous to know that she was hungry. She just stood there helplessly, having no idea where was the cafeteria. Then, an Imperial who was so beautiful came over to her. "Hey! Are you looking for the Pond of Eternity?" When Ethera gave the Imperial a confused look, the Imperial added, "Oh, it's the cafeteria. Follow me, I'll show you the way!" Ethera hesitated. Since she was raised at the Southern Icefields, she was always careful. The Imperial was a stranger- Ethera barely knew her. But on the other talon, this was a chance to actually have friends. And the Imperial looked friendly. Finally Ethera made a decision. "Sure, thank you!" The Imperial grinned. "Cool! This way." She said. "I'm Blossom. Who are you?" "Ethera." Ethera replied. "I came here not so long ago. Maybe three days?" Blossom smiled. "I still don't have a friend right now. Hey, do you want to be best friends?" Ethera's heart leaped. A BEST FRIEND! She never even had a friend before. She barely spoke out, "Sure, fine by me." and tried SO hard not to sound like a nerd. Blossom let a pn enormous smile. "This is awesome! A friend!" She bounced up and down. Suddenly, a large "GONG" sound rattled the ground. "Oh no!" Blossom's smile faded. "We're late!" "Late for what?" Ethera asked, startled by the sound. "Late for the Pond of Eternity! If we don't go there in two gongs, we might as well as miss dinner!" Oh no, oh no, oh no. Ethera was already starving. "Well, then let's hurry!" Ethera and Blossom ran towards the Pond of Eternity, talon in talon. Ethera had a great time in the Starmist Lake. It was so....so PEACEFUL. She and her new bestie, Blossom, always played together EVERY DAY. One time they went to the library, and the library was giving out free familiars! Ethera got a Spellwrought Ambassador, and Blossom got a Sweetheart Swan. Also, Blossom got a partner! He was the ARTIST OF THE CLAN!! His name was Rose, a sturdy male Wildclaw. They had two gorgeous hatchlings, each of them precious. One day, Ethera was having a gentle walk, when she almost bumped to a male Imperial. "Oh my gosh, I'm SO sorry," Ethera said, surprised. "It's- it's fine. Are you okay?" Soin they fell in love, and Ethera found out his name was Apollo. What a wonderful name, Ethera thought. A few weeks later, they had two eggs! Their hatchlings had eyes that were like the ocean. Ethera loved them so much. She especially adored Lavender, who was a joyful hatchling. Whenever she was hungry, she could just chirp, "Hungry!" And soon she would have some seafood, her favourite food. |
