Ruone - Goddess of the Seasons - she/they She isn't only the patron of free will, the one to address in hopes of a plentiful harvest, the one responsible for all changes the flora and fauna undergoes as the sky fades from a bright cornflower to a cold gray. Ruone is the seasons themselves. The branches weave around their plumage, delicate talons painted with gold, robes spun of the finest weeds and reed fibers adorning their radiant self - wings hypnotizing, antlers reflecting in the sun, twine wrapping around her wings enough to beautify yet not enough to limit movement, paper-thin skulls of creatures long extinct hanging off the ropes, clacking together slightly as she moves. The sounds blend in with the whisper of the river, rustle of the leaves and whistle of the wind. Her look changes with the seasons, so she may blend into the world around her, barely noticeable between the reeds or snow - the temperatures lower, common dragons shivering as the thin feathers at the top of their forehead go from a luscious green to a pale blue - and every day they grows to be more like the world around them, or perhaps the other way around, the plants and sky looking at her for guidance as to when to start shedding leaves and hiding beneath a snowy robe until spring would come again. Far removed from all society of the common folk, she is a spirit goddess of not only seasons but freedom, never tying herself to a mate or even a friend, for their own company is freedom to them, only needing the weather and flora that they nurture and nothing else. She still holds the draconic folk in her heart, for they are the ones who treat her realms with care, who much more often rejoice at the coming of every new season as her appearance changes and feed off the land, respectfully never taking more than they need. It doesn't cost them anything to bless a good harvest, but still the prayers and praise are quite appreciated; unlike what most believe, they do not fall upon deaf ears. To her, the seasons flash by in the blink of an eye - she has long grown to accept the change that occurs stemming from within them and reflecting on the world, struggling to pick their favorite season due to each having enough perks for her to gaze upon them in newfound wonder. She smiled at the flora and fauna thriving all across Sornieth, and vowed to never let anything harm her perfect world - for a goddess keeps her promises, and if anyone dares harm what she treasures most, Ruone's mercy isn't to be tested to one's leisure. |
