Arrival

You find yourself gazing at the white horizon. The ground around you is glistening and smooth, as if someone had sliced through the land and coated it with a layer of pristine glass. You notice the glassy floor is covered with a thin layer of water. Ripples spread out from beneath your feet, turning the once glossy terrain into a beautiful mosaic of intersecting ripples and waves. Oh.. You think to yourself, How wonderfully mysterious this is. You decided to splash around in the water, if you can even call it splashing with how thin the layer of water is. A light breeze had picked up, gently caressing your body in a revitalizing aura. It was truly peaceful.

Until you noticed something— something that filled you with horror and reluctant delight. Opposing ripples had formed in the distant horizon, slowly spreading out towards you. You thought to yourself, Well, this can only mean one thing. Life beyond your own! A truly exciting yet terrifying aspect in this blank nothingness you found yourself in. Before you could process whether or not it was a good idea to follow the ripples, you legs started moving on their own. You were at full sprint now, blindly dashing towards what ever may have created those ripples. You didn't know if it may be friend or foe. But you still kept running. You just had to know. I just have to know.
