Sesethy

The coven has already sent many challenges Sesethy’s way. And so far, she has bested them all. It’s not even hard for her, the spells and rituals that these tests are supposed to teach her are merely the basics. Sesethy awaits the day that she will get properly challenged. And when she completes this final challenge, she will join the coven and teach all those old sorcerers some real magic!

So when Sesethy wakes up in a room filled with mirrors one morning, she knows it’s coming. And she’s excited! Finally, it’s time for her to prove her worth! She looks around her, but there’s not a sorcerer in sight. That's fine, she’ll manage on her own. These challenges tend to be pretty self-explanatory anyway. She looks at the mirror in front of her, and notices that it doesn’t show her reflection. Instead, it shows a shadow-like creature, with hollow eyes and gaping mouth. As Sesethy carefully steps closer, it screams at her and lunges, out of the mirror and into the room. Sesethy dodges it and attacks with a quick counterspell to blast it back to wherever these weird things come from. As soon as she does that, similar monsters come from the other mirrors surrounding Sesethy, who understands that it’s her test today to defend herself from these creatures.

And she does so, almost flawlessly. When all the weird monsters are dealt with, Sesethy notices a small scratch on her arm. Nothing to be worried about, and nothing a good healing spell can’t fix. But as she tries to heal herself, the spell fizzles out without doing anything. And Sesethy notices that there still aren’t any members of the coven in the room with her. She involuntarily looks back up at the mirror in front of her. The one that spawned the first monster. And she’s relieved to see her own reflection this time.

That is, until she notices her hollow eyes and gaping mouth.
