Biography

Corpsemaker Ivy

Honeyblossom looked behind her. Seaglass was falling behind. The dragon was young and had a hard time keeping up with the rest of the pack. His wings weren't as large as the other members so for every wingbeat another member did he had to do two just to keep pace. It also didn't help that he was carrying that hatchling. He was so protective of it, and she couldn't understand why. Maggot's bright white color made them an easy target for anything with eyesight, not to mention a quick giveaway to prey. The scrawny thing was always sick with something. Even the sun hated it. It blazed its skin and it seemed to always be squinting, as if the sun burned its eyes. Yet Seaglass was always there beside it. He angered Solemn by protecting it, and so she had punished him by lowering his rank and forcing him to be the one to provide for it. With his small size he had such difficulty hunting even with the pack and Honeyblossom couldn't help feeling a bit of pity for him. Despite everything he still managed to provide for the runt. She swerved, gracefully turning and grabbing on to a sturdy branch, hanging from it as if a massive bat. The rest of the pack followed, though Solemn gave a glare of disapproval, Honeyblossom knew she wouldn't harm her second-in-command over something so trivial, not yet anyways. Seaglass gratefully landed on a branch closer to the ground, wrapping Maggot with their wings, cradling them from any danger. For now they'd rest, then fly out at dusk in search of prey.

Honeyblossom stretched her wings, feeling the rest of the pack stir around her. She glanced down towards Seaglass, who unfolded their wings and checked on Maggot, carefully holding them in their talons. Solemn flapped their wings loudly twice, dropping off the branch they clung to and taking flight, signaling to the pack that it was time to hunt. They quietly flew through trees, weaving between the trunks and keeping low enough so they didn't smack into the branches until finally they emerged into the open plain of the Emperor's Wake. They found it was rather easy to avoid the beast, simply keeping out of its sight and staying close to the tree line.

Vermin let out a chitter, signaling that they found something. The pack slowly spread out, circling around their target quietly. Slow enough that their prey didn't even see them circling high above them. It was a lone grassland skira. A rare sight, but a welcome one considering how huge it was. Navani shut her wings, allowing herself to rapidly descend towards the skira. She slowly opened her wings, making a horrible whistling sound which cause the skira to look at it and attempt to flee in the opposite direction. Navani swooped past it, as her only job was to get it to run. Honeyblossom descended, shutting her wings as Navani had done and getting a clean hit to the skiras head, confusing it. Seaglass darted from each side of the Skira, scratching it with his talons. He was hard to hit and fast too when hunting, but he got tired quickly. It didn't take long before the skira also tired out and the pack managed to take it down. Maggot was even allowed to eat at the kill since it was more than enough to feed the pack for the day. They ate as much as they could then departed back home. Honeyblossom stayed slightly behind the pack as they flew, keeping Seaglass company.
