The wind blew through the window causing the leaves to ruffle. A wise dragon stood in front of a tome that sat next to a large cauldron that emanated green smoke. "Now where in the world is that recipe?" He muttered As he flipped through the pages he heard a knock upon his door. "Enter," he called out with a grumble, his golden colored eyes continuing to scan the time. He could hear the door open slowly, as someone meekly called out," Treesage?" Upon hearing the familiar small voice of one of the younglings that had joined the mage tower, Treesage turned to face them. He could see them poke their head from around the now open door, seemingly afraid to enter. "What is it, young one? Surely I am not that terrifying," Treesage spoke in a calm manner. This didn't seem to help as the youngling didn't move out from behind the door, "Umm… about your tome… I… umm…" Treesage tilted his head slightly as he waited for the youngling to continue. "I may have borrowed a page… But I promised I was going to return it!" He began as tears gathered in their eyes as they emerged from behind the door and presented him the potion recipe he was looking for. The page itself was intact however it was obvious that something had spilled over it blurring the words. Treesage took a calming breath before he addressed the youngling, "Youngling, you should know better than to borrow without asking. However, what is done and done." Treesage walked over, gently taking the page from the youngling and walked over to Cauldron and hung the page over the smoke. Treesage began to speak incantations and allowed his clawed hands to be engulfed before touching the page. Slowly, the page began to return to normal. When it was all over the page was back to normal as if nothing happened. "Wow! Do you think I can do that someday?" The youngling asked with awe. "One day, yes. Now off with you I believe you have classes no?" Tressage hummed out as he took the page down and returned it to his tome. "Y-yes sir!" The youngling squeaked out before quickly leaving the room and closing the door behind them. "Younglings these days…" Treesage muttered as a green and red snake flew to him and settled around his shoulders just as he began to work his potion with the wind blowing the leaves. |
