Lilacfoot

After weeks of traveling, Lilacfoot finally found himself a place to stay. For now. It’s no clan, nor a proper lair, but a cave will protect him from the weather. And from other predators. Lilacfoot tries to make a fire to warm himself up, and succeeds after only five tries. A new personal best! He sits down in his cave, or what will be his cave until he’s eventually forced out again. He roasts some fish above the fire, finally time to eat. And after that, Lilacfoot curls up for a well-deserved and a much needed nap.

When he wakes up, it’s dark outside. And Lilacfoot doesn’t feel like going outside in the dark. He looks at his surroundings, the cave he is in goes pretty deep. He hasn’t explored it fully yet. Maybe now is the time to do so! He gets up and stretches, before making a torch and walking deeper into the cave. He marks the right wall with his claws every fifty steps or so, but for now the cave seems to go very much in a straight line, only at a downwards incline. He follows the path deeper and deeper into the earth, seemingly going nowhere but forward, when suddenly the air surrounding him changes. Lilacfoot can smell it, a slightly sweet smell that comes from whatever is in front of him? Is it food? He hopes it is! The fish was barely enough.

Eagerly, Lilacfoot hurries onwards, still marking the wall but not being as meticulous with counting his steps. And finally, after what seems like forever, the cave opens up in a large cavern, filled to the brim with blue mushrooms. Blue mushrooms that smell very, very good. As in, Lilacfoot would love to roast these, but he’s seriously too hungry to even care. He plucks some mushrooms, and without thinking about it, puts them in his mouth.

Around him, the remaining mushrooms suddenly light up, glowing brightly.
