Power. Control. Neither of these were ever things that had crossed Pure's mind even once. In the beginning, all she cared about was seeing others happy and safe. All she wanted was to see the wonders of the world flourish around her. She went about her business like most others, never straying far from the path set out before her by those that raised her. All who knew her had nothing but kind words to say whenever her name came up, and she, in turn, had naught but compliments for them.

Then came the day when Pure set out from home, filled with a sudden, unexplained desire to see the world. Her travels led her to a clan that saw the world in a very different light than anyone Pure had ever met. They viewed the world as impure and broken. They saw its inhabitants as tainted and foul. To them, the world was something they had to fix. The clan was determined to cleanse the lands of all that did not belong in their eyes so that they could become the new rulers, and saviors, of the realm.

At first, Pure was unsure what to make of these strangers. She shied away from their offers to initiate her into their ranks and fled to a nearby grove of trees. It was there that she was visited by the clan's most respected member. The stranger's words scared Pure in the beginning. The idea of being responsible for so much death was frightening, but the more she listened, the more the words reached her ears seemed... right. The world was sick. It needed help in order to be healed. It needed her. So what if a few lives were lost in the process? Those that lost them should be proud that they helped pave the way to a better world! Without a second though, Pure accepted the clan's invitation.

When she finally returned home, Pure had changed. She no longer sought to help others, but instead watched with a calculating eye as they suffered. Those that dared speak to her were treated with disgust and contempt. She preached the same words to them that the strangers had spoken to her, but when no one would listen, she secluded herself away from the world. Now, Pure is content to merely sit and wait for the time when all impure beings of the land will be purged. She sits and she waits, comforted by the notion that, in the end, she will be among the heroes that cleansed the realm of its sickness. She will be among those that returned peace and order to the world. She will be a savior.
