-ABOUT-

Hibiscus was born and raised in the heart of Nature itself, the roots of the Behemoth. Born to an imperial gardener of Ice and a snapper physician who was also raised in the roots. Hibiscus was the oldest of three. His life was a simple one. He tilled the ground, cared for the plants, and lived a relatively peaceful existence. His entire Clan held brilliant, rainbow-like colors, and Hibiscus was no exception. He did stand out from the rest of his family, however. His brothers had been quick to leave their home for the duty of exaltation and as the only imperial of the clutch, high expectations were placed on him. Hibiscus knew this very well, and in the wake of the conflict between Nature and Plague, he became an ambassador.

He climbed the ranks of the Pox Consulate for both his wisdom and his gentle hand. Yes, some of the Plague dragons were wary of him, but he was good at his job. Unfortunately, not everyone respected Hibiscus’ position of leadership. He had loads of work to do, and his junior staff proved to be troublesome. The imperial had to sometimes sneak eggs to prevent them from getting killed. Thankfully, Hibiscus would make peace with the Refuge, a Clan of Nature dragons whose home served as a safe haven for Plague dragons.

Everything was going great. Then Hibiscus woke up in Plague, his leg brutally injured. He remembers having held one of the hatchlings from the Refuge. A pearlcatcher, the youngest of four and a child both cursed and blessed. Desperately looking for any kind of healing for his injured leg. Hibiscus and the child, Rivulet, stumbled upon a strange entity. Gaia. Gaia reached her hand to Hibiscus, and he was given a home between the borders of Arcane and Plague. Many of the dragons he met were oh-so strange, but Hibiscus’s heart pounded like it has never before. He had fallen in love with the entity, and there was no going back.

-PERSONALITY-

Hibiscus has always been a dragon with a lot of experience under his belt. He has a gentle spirit that allows him to easily interact with other dragons and is notable for the amount of wisdom that he has. This has made him a calm and reasonable individual. He knows how to solve problems and uses his thoughtful nature to keep close ties with everyone around him. He was very much wise beyond his years as a hatchling and keeps that same wisdom as an adult. His experience as the former head of the Pox Consulate has paid off for him.

cB1tgoG.png
Even with all his kindness, however, Hibiscus is not perfect. He often finds himself pushing himself to the limit and needs to be doing something at all times. This means that does not always come to immediately solve problems because he is caught up in another one. He strives to do the best that he can and his big heart means that he never does things in half measures. Hibiscus is always at 200%, even if his cool demeanor does not always reveal it.

Hibiscus wants to change the world. Some would say that he is a bit romantic about the ideal. It’s the reason why he fell in love with Gaia in the first place and what brought him to the Gaians. He’s more self-aware of the dangers that the excess reverence of Gaia has. Sovanna has spiraled completely into fanaticism. Irwen is too much of a pushover to do anything, and the pearlcatchers were raised by Gaia. Hibiscus knew better. Unfortunately, the imperial is too caught up in his own idealism and dealing with taking care of the Clan. Perhaps one day he will figure things out, but for now, he only has eyes on Gaia.
