A humble merchant who seems to know far more than he lets on... what it means is up to you.

The truth, of course, is that Volo is far from normal (and humble... yet there is a lingering kindness within his eyes if one were to gaze into them), and is a human blessed cursed with immortality due to the nature of his familial ties. He resents this fact, but knows his "gift" allows him to do much more than a mere mortal could ever accomplish in one lifetime.
So he researched Hisui's god, Almighty Sinnoh, and found himself knowing more about it than anyone else... but even with such knowledge, the god refused to answer his cries, and Volo ended up leading himself down a dark path.

But who is to say he was wrong? Who is to say the being he sought out in retaliation was even evil in the first place? Many believe Volo is not an evil person, despite how he has painted his canvas of fate.
Togekiss, ever by his side, is proof of this. She is a being that does not fare well where kindness is elusive, or where turmoil is common... and yet... she cherishes him dearly, and in return, the bond they share is unbreakable.
Ah, but winners record the history, and Volo was not the winner...

...Back then at least.

Did you know I took a screenshot of every piece of Volo dialogue on my first playthrough? I also predicted his plot twist far before the game came out! I am very passionate about him. We love Volo in my household, otay?
