Biography
Short One is a memorial dragon for my grandmother, who died July 1st, 2015. Shorty is the best person I have ever known. She is my hero.
When I was born neither of my parents wanted me. My biological father left within the first two years, and my biological mother left when I was three. My grandparents adopted me. I was the 8th child they raised. They were both well into their sixties when my parents dropped me on their doorstep. I was no angel either. I was born with severe insomnia, an extremely long list of allergies, and a hatred for eating meat. They did their best to raise me though. They came from two different backgrounds, Short One came from a middle class Catholic family, attended school all the way up to college, where she got all of her basics. She believed that I needed school so that I could set myself apart from everyone. That if I wasn't smart guys would push me around like they had her. She kept me in school as much as she could. She taught me that days were for studying, nights were for sneaking out and having midnight margaritas, and all time was meant to be spent surrounded by the people you love. It was our dream to live like the Aunts from Practical Magic. She loved watching movies. Every evening after she finished making dinner we'd sit down and watch movies or tv episodes until 8 or 9. Every day spent with her was a life lesson. She'd take me into the world and let me see the bad that lurked everywhere, and she'd let me try to fix it. She made me understand that the bad is everywhere and that's why we have to protect the good.
My grandma died July 1st, 2015. That is the worst day of my life. The nursing home she was at had lost her for over 24 hours and only called after they found her. They let a massive infection spread throughout her body. When they found her some of her organs had failed. They found her at 8:20. By 11 she was a lifeless shell. I didn't get to see her until after 2, and I wish I hadn't had to see her like that.
Her colors: Her favorite color was always Sky blue. Green because she loved to garden and watch things grow. Red for our favorite flower, the red rose. We used to grow those all the time.
Her genes: Iridescent, Shimmer, and Glimmer because she shined so brightly no matter what the situation. She was so graceful.
Her breed: Even though she looked soft and sweet she could easily turn and become the most fierce protector you've ever seen if she thought you were going to harm her or the ones she loves.
