Observant / Apathetic / Money-minded

Doesn’t obey people in charge or the general rules of society. More likely to listen to peers

(Dragon) doesn't seem to have much interest or concern on the going on in the clan.

An amazing entrepreneur. Good at finding bargains and being on the better end of profitable business affairs.

If Demeter is the wisest of the Fates, then Eris is the sharpest. She was raised to be a tool, and in the process, she became a blade of her own making, to be wielded by no one. It is the consequence of many teachers impressing upon her the notion that selfishness leads to survival. Sornieth is not a world for soft hearts, especially soft hearts that find themselves alone.

So instead of being soft, she shaped herself from steel and hid it well.

It leaves her with a murky history, one best left untouched if one wishes to maintain an air of mystery about her, not to mention any sense of trust. There is blood on her claws and rivers of it trailing in her wake, each stain darker than the last, and each regret more and more fleeting. Such is the life of an assassin, after all.

Of course, if Eris did not kill, she would not be here to tell any tales of her ruthlessness and cunning. Even as a hatchling, there were dragons that saw her more useful as dead. She was too young, too soft, too inexperienced. For many, she was a liability, at least until she proved otherwise.

Her best weapon, before she learned to hone her claws and carry hidden knives on her person, was her voice. Always a vocal child, she had mastered mimicry early on, much to the chagrin of her keepers. She was a noisy, troublesome orphan, always setting up fights between other hatchlings by stealing their voices and throwing them around when backs were turned. It wasn't uncommon to find her watching a fight unfurl, a sense of smugness and pride radiating from her tiny body. She knew what she was capable of even then, knew how she could turn a situation to her advantage, or at least her entertainment.

But when thieves tried to kill her, leaving no witnesses behind, she knew to throw their voices, send them spinning into confusion until they gored one another in the dark. And when her eventual teachers tired of her, one by one, she always escaped by pretending to be something else. The shadows and her thousand songs have led her out of harm's way time and time again.

Except she is done running now. These days, she prefers to take the initiative.

Her role as one of the three Fates is not a decision made on idealistic principles, nor on some personal calling. The simple fact of the matter is that being a Fate pays exceptionally well, and offers her the security to carry out her dirty work. Some of the dragons who would rather see her dead still walk Sornieth, after all, and under the guise of her work, she becomes a vigilante, justified in her killings because they are to protect her clan, not to serve her own needs.

In this way, safety comes above all else. Eris does not pick fights she knows full well that she cannot win, but she is seldom unprepared for a challenge. Time has given her experience in her terrible trade, taught her all the ways to kill silently, quickly or slowly, painfully or mercifully. Few dragons know their way around death quite as she does, and that is most certainly for the best. If there were others of her talents, perhaps she would not have survived so long.
But she does imagine it, the day someone finally finds her. There are kills she failed, witnesses left behind because she valued her own life over their demise. Maybe one of them will seek her out, follow the trail of bloodshed to her stoop. Or maybe she will live a life in peace, padding her coffers with her work as a Fate, prepared to make a well-funded getaway should the need ever arise. In that case, she will probably have to leave her Hydra behind, but the beast is a weapon as much as she is, and less of a familiar than those of the other Fates. It will fend for itself in her absence, and in any case, will probably outlive her no matter the manner of her death.

But death will have to catch her with her back turned, because she is ever vigilant. Threats fall before her because she strikes first and strikes fast because she has long ago cast any concept of mercy or sympathy to the wind. The world is full of dragons who survive, not dragons who hesitate, and the longer she goes without giving her work pause, or deities forbid, developing morals, the more often she will live to see another day.
