Deep in the forest is a small, murky grove of trees. Yet hidden within is the Echopool, a small lake that holds the memories of past generations and their souls. Those who know of its existence often seek it out for the opportunity to learn lost knowledge or to harness its power for themselves. Yet few know of the grove's guardian, a dragon named Bryophyta that blends in almost perfectly with her surroundings.

Trickery and misdirection are her preferred methods of keeping away the curious, often using magic to lead them down the wrong path until they circle back to the forest's entrance. Those that are more tenacious will find the environment seemingly working against them and if even that doesn't dissuade them, Bryophyta will show herself to see whether they are a threat.

It is very rare that Bryophyta considers someone worthy enough to be taken to the Echopool. Many are turned away and some are forcibly removed from the forest, using a combination of her magic and her vicious claws.
