- They're a living berry. Mistletoe is the only fruit producing plant around here, so that's what they named them. They're raised by Matir, and she revealed them to the clan pretty quickly after she created them.
- Herbivore monsters want to eat them, so they doesn't leave Matir's den alone. No natural defenses or abilities because, y'know, they're a berry.
- Rotting might have been a risk if they didn't live in the coldest place in the world
