Mercurialis

A dragon of deception and intrigue, Mercurialis used to serve as a court advisor for a royal family in the distant clan of Zihyal. After accepting some bad deals in order to advance his position, the coatl was exiled, and left the clan in a state of shame and dishonor.

Mercurialis wandered the world for decades, and eventually he came upon the Verdant Wildwood and found a home that he could live in -- a home that had never heard of his past shame; a home that accepted dragons carrying burdens far heavier than his own without question.

He has slowly gained passion about the Clan's history and is carefully keeping records of the Clan's births, deaths, and new members. After living so long in a past life of deception, Mercurialis is learning to trust through simple paper and fact. He takes great pleasure in writing down each new hatchling's names and new homes if they leave the clan.

After living most of his life in a clan that valued the ability to deceive and trick, Mercurialis has trouble trusting. He has a hard time believing that others genuinely like him and are not just pretending to like him for personal gain. He often believes that laughter in a close area is about him, rather than simply around him.

He has fallen deeply in love with Lilium. Since her arrival, Mercurialis has been totally devoted to her, and spends most of his time trying to convince her to permanently bond with him. He spends too much of his time reading her reasons why she should be with him, and less time showing her. She spends a good deal of her time teasing him, but she is clearly as devoted to him as he is to her.
