like his parents before him, scopo is a tradesdragon, though not as simple as his parents may like.

there are dreams beyond the push and pull of the fishing nets, beyond the crash of the sea and the rope burn. yes, the godless sea that borders the icefields does little to inspire. it is dark, and dour, and dangerous. it is merciless in it's darkness, and yet scopo looks into it and feels no fear. inspiration is what he gleans from its mercilessness.

when he has the time, during the ice seasons, scopo writes. oh, sweeping tales of bravery, of adventure, or the glistening waters of the tidelord, or what he assumes they are like. the rivers of the drag, the thick marshiness of the everglades, he dreams of less hostile waters, water that loves him. but he picks up the harpoon every year, as he does.

stuck in a rut, his parents shake their head at him. they tell him go, and after so many years of refraining, he does. oh, he's going to be a writer! he's going to bring joy to his readers, it's going to spill out of him! he has so much to say, so many adventures to think up, and the grit to finally do it.
