Biography
Link
Clan Thorn - Outcast
Magical, Disdainful, Coward
Link is clan-born, yet she's ostracized for her consuming interest in all things arcane.
Like Torrent, she has suffered from the sibling's curse.

The clan’s main clearing was battered by heavy rain. The private lairs of each dragon were better roofed, but unfortunately neither Link nor her brother Damphair were in their private lairs. The moon cast an eery glow that streamed through some of the inky black clouds, and the cool night smelled of petrichor and rot.
Link let her magical components fall to the ground, items like a rodent’s skull and a bottle of glowing green slime sinking into the mud,
“You can’t go, not tonight,” She hissed, unable to whisper amongst the sound of rain,
“Are you just gonna stay here?” Her brother snapped, “Keep playing with magic in the dark?” His red eyes glowed when the moonlight hit them. Link pulled her burlap hood forward,
“You do it too,” she growled, “You know how exalting works in the Scarred Wasteland. They’ll expect you to fight, tooth and claw,”
“Then I’ll one up them with spells,”
“If your fellow soldiers don’t eat you alive then your enemies will,”
“Then I’ll die protecting my flight,” Damphair took an emphatic step forward,
“How can you still respect plague when you’ve heard stories of arcane or light or lightning?”
“Clan Thorn doesn’t stand for plague! We’ve discussed this, I know the plaguemother and her generals won't care if I practice magic-” Link tried to say something but her brother continued in a slew, “-instead of cowering here and begging me to stay, why won’t you just come with me?” His voice cracked, and Link hardly heard it as she realized her options were dwindling. Thunder echoed. She had one last, meager move,
“We can’t split,” She pawed at the rune bead necklace at her neck. Each ball of wood was engraved with a symbol to describe Link, and Damphair had one that nearly matched. Nearly. “We’re the same. We’re practically one dragon. You can’t leave me,” She glowered. Damphair looked at her with his irises of ruby,
“We’re not,” He took another step forward. He reached toward Link and took a hold of the one ornament that split them apart. Link couldn’t see it in the dark, but she knew it by heart. She had been told it meant safety, or discretion, but she knew its true meaning: cowardice,
“I love you,” Damphair said, and the words broke his sister’s heart. He turned, his tail waving out behind him, and quickly the blackness devoured him. Link felt the void he left instantly. The clan seemed empty. Only the rain kept her chilly company. Slowly, bitterly, she picked up what she had dropped. She would return them to the secret niche in her lair; tonight, it seemed, she wasn’t in the mood for sorcery.
