TRUST THE WINDS


______ The wind lapped at his fur, whispering faintly in his ear. The Windsinger was awaiting his call, no doubt. He felt the formidable pressure of the air surround him, its strength growing as he neared the Twisting Crescendo. Though his mission wouldn't bring him there today, he couldn't help but gaze longingly into the distant monstrous vortex lying patiently on the horizon.
Stalking over Sornieth.
The Twisting Crescendo was but a seed. SolemnTooth and the devout ones of the Windsinger knew its true purpose. For the time being, it was only a storm, a mere tease of the future to come. Come the day of reckoning, SolemnTooth could only imagine the beautiful transformation of the world awaiting him. Well, if he survives to see it.


______ His flying ferry stopped before a landing dock. His driver gave him a silent nod, gesturing for him to depart. As he stepped onto the main deck, he took a deep breath of rich incense and smoke.
"Good day!" a Skydancer priest called out from above, giving him a cheery wave. He slid down the mainmast and landed before SolemnTooth, scattering dust. "Do forgive my abruptness- I didn't see you out there."
SolemnTooth nodded politely. "Good day. I rented a temple, but I'm not sure where I'm supposed to go. Am I supposed to check in?"
The Skydancer nodded, flipping through a book. His eyes squint for a moment, looking from the book to the dragon in front of him, internally comparing the two. "SolemnTooth of IronCast?"
"Correct," replied the Tundra, giving him a toothy smile.
The priest returned the smile, passing him a key. "Look for the fifth door down that hall," he explained, pointing past SolemnTooth. "That's your temple."
"Thank you," said SolemnTooth, bowing to the priest.
"May He bless you today," replied the priest, bowing back. "The Windsinger appreciates your generosity, I'm sure."
SolemnTooth nodded, taking the keys.
