______Cygnus had been sitting outside, just beyond the walls of the clan on an unusually clear night to chart the stars (a homework assignment for the astrology student) when a sudden flash of color and heat erupted above him. The mirror was just able to gather his things and tumble out of the way when what he foolishly thought was an ordinary meteor landed in the snow. Creeping closer, he felt his heart stop in his throat when he spotted what appeared to be a strange dragon curled up at the bottom.

______Help came before he was able to clear his mind long enough to even consider calling for it on behalf of the light and noise that the incident caused alerting practically everyone in the clan, let alone the guards. Following the lot to the infirmary, Cygnus was amazed to learn that the creature he had "found" was in fact an elaemira, the otherworldly species that had been populating his clan more and more often nowadays. Not about to let go of this incredible discovery, he insisted to stay beside its bedside, even if it meant missing a class or two. Thankfully for the both of them, it didn't take very long for the creature to wake up. Much to Cygnus's surprise, however, the elaemira that introduced himself as Pollux very quickly took a liking to the mirror. Must have been something about him being the first dragon he interacted with, or something like that.

______Cygnus did not mind all terribly much to let the elaemira follow him around, not that he got much of a choice anyway. To and from class the little pearlcatcher lookalike followed, enthusiastically introducing himself as "Pollux, Cygnus's bestest friend!" to anyone that asked. Cygnus would just smile and shrug. Pollux quickly got used to the classes, often interrupting to ask questions, though not all questions that he asked always had something to do with what they were actually talking about at the time. Cygnus wouldn't mind quite so much if Pollux wasn't picking up on concepts faster than he ever did and now threatened to surpass him in the class. Embarrassing... 		__
