headcanons by mainecoons:
- he doesn't share his poetry with others as he struggles with pretty intense anxiety and self confidence issues, but he's expressive and skilled in writing. the doubt has to do with his own abilities more than anything else so it doesn't impact his ability to communicate in most situations, but he can quickly fall into a spiral of constant overthinking when stressed, drained, or uncomfortable. because of this, he can sometimes come off as distant when speaking about complex or sensitive topics.

- he spends time thinking about himself and his identity, and a lot of his poems feel like rambles about that to him - even though he puts a lot of thought into their structure and elegance. sometimes he spends days thinking about a poem before actually writing anything down, and oftentimes he loses them to the regular thoughts of his day. other times he produces a lot of poetry all at once, it can be driven by both motivation and irritation (due to lack of motivation). a lot of his poems are 'unfinished,' for months because of this, and a majority of them are eventually abandoned. it's a cycle.

- he uses discarded poems to make origami sometimes, and he's quite good at it; his home is slightly littered with small paper animals.

- he sketches occasionally, he's decent at drawing objects, landscapes, common forms of magic, and nature. he does not draw other dragons very often, but he isn't terrible at that either. if he chose to focus himself on art he could probably become quite skilled, but he isn't super interested in it.

- he has friends in both his home clan and the wind clan he travels to, but doesn't feel that any of his relationships are very serious or vulnerable. he loves these friends, but has no one that he feels he can really share himself with, and it creates a lingering feeling of loneliness in his life.

- when he falls in love, he falls in love hard
