Deep within the shadowy corners of the Tangled Wood, there exists a clan of dragons that values knowledge and secrets above all else. Among their number is Ariadne, whose avian features have made her an outcast among her own kind.

Ariadne was born with large, pointed wings and a sharp, hooked beak, traits that her clan saw as a liability. They viewed her as weak and unfit for their way of life, and they made it clear that she was not welcome among them. Fearing for her safety, she fled her clan's territory and sought refuge with the beastclans.

FORGING AHEAD
There, the Botanist found a new family among those who understood what it was like to be an outcast. She discovered that the beastclans shared her passion for the natural world, and they welcomed her with open arms. Together, they explored the depths of the Tangled Wood, uncovering hidden secrets and rare plants that Ariadne had never even heard of.

As she spent more time with the beastclans, Ariadne began to realize that her old clan's way of life was not for her. She saw the darkness (and not the good kind) that lingered in their hearts, and she knew that she could not bear to be a part of it any longer. And so, she defected from her own kind and pledged her allegiance to The Roost.

NEW ROOTS
Now, Ariadne lives in hiding with her new family. She uses her knowledge of cursed and taboo botany to aid The Roost in their daily lives, and she has become a valuable member of their community. Although her off-putting avian features still set her apart from the others, she no longer feels alone or ostracized. For the first time in her life, she feels like she truly belongs.
