Biography

SUNFLOWER

The Southern Icefields was a dangerous place. Harsh blizzards, snowstorms; the perilous cold could kill any dragon not accustomed to it, and the threat of ice breaking beneath one's feet, letting them fall into the frigid icy waters below... was ever looming.

Inhabitable. Unwelcoming. No one within their right mind could stand to be in such an unforgiving environment.

"I spy something white."

"Don't. No. Guys, don't do that."

"Is it snow?"

"Close."

"I swear to the Icewarden--"

Three voices could just barely be heard cutting through the soft winds of the icefields. Should one wander towards the voices, they would find three dragons huddled around the entrance to a cave, mindlessly keeping themselves occupied with pointless banter.

"What else are you seeing other than snow that's white?" Seraph snorted, letting his tail flop unceremoniously onto the ground.

"I'm sure you can think of something," Oceania responded with an amused tone. "What else could their possibly be?"

"Guys," Vex objected, irritation lining his features. "Let's NOT do this. Please."

"Oh! Wait, is it Vex's pearl?" Seraph offered.

"No."

"Don't try and drag me into this!"

"We're not. You're free to join, though," Oceania teased, before lazily stretching out her talons. "There's hardly anything else to busy ourselves with out here. It's not like we've got rival clans to worry about."

"You never know!" Vex growled, hopping up onto his feet and starting to pace. "Anything could be out there! Just waiting, lurking in the shadows, about to pounce on us."

"Vex's scales?" Seraph guessed. "I suppose they're more of a light, off-blue, though--"

"Stop trying to get me involved in your stupid little game!"

A twig snapped, interrupting the conversation in an instant.
All three guards' heads raised to attention, eyes focused on the ice fields before them. There was nothing but a dead silence between them, before--

"Was it some sort of bird you saw?" Seraph asked. "White feathers, or something."

"If it wasn't here now, I would've said so--"

"GUYS," Vex shouted, his mane bristling with frustration. "Did you not hear that? There could be someone out there!"
The pearlcatcher hurried out of the cave's entrance, fiery eyes surveying his surroundings with a sharp intensity. Just as he was starting to holler a loud "show yourself, coward!" a dragon fell from above, and landed square on his back.

Seraph and Oceania quickly jumped up, moving to tackle the stranger themselves before said stranger - a nocturne covered in bony armor - turned to them and splayed out her wings in a threat display.
"Halt!" She shouted, puffing out her chest. She reeked of - rather misplaced - arrogance, a sense of pride practically radiating off of her. "Your clan is now under siege by the Shadow-Stained Icicles! You will forfeit everything immediately, and perhaps be spared!"

Vex was snarling like a wild beast, trying desperately to free himself from under his captor while shouting at his guardmates to DO SOMETHING.
Seraph tensed, turning to Oceania with uncertainty. "Should I go warn everyone?"

Oceania, meanwhile, looked bored. She shook her head and gave a very heavy sigh before speaking up, rather bluntly.
"Where are these so called Icicles, nocturne?"

...The intruder noticeably faltered, something like pain flashing across the visible parts of her snout, before she stammered out: "Th-They're on their way! And you will be sorry for your-- uh, your lack of fear!"

"Uh huh," Oceania tsked. "And why haven't we heard of this group until now?"

"OCEANIA, stop chatting with the enemy and GET HER OFF OF ME!" Vex shrieked.

"Th-They're very inconspicuous!" The nocturne protested. "We lurk in the shadows! Stalking our prey in careful silence!"

"Oh!" Seraph piped up. "I've heard of them!"

The nocturne beamed. "Yes! Yes! You have! We--"

"I thought they all got wiped out, though," The skydancer pondered aloud. "Like, the whole lot of them. Either attacked the wrong group and all got killed, or just got buried in an avalanche. I can't remember. One of the two."

Well, apparently that struck a chord. The nocturne gasped in agonized horror, and apparently was caught off-guard just enough for Vex to finally throw her off of him, letting him scramble to his feet.

"Horrid intruder!" Vex spat, lashing his tail like an angry cat. "Be grateful I have half the decency not to rip your snout off!"

Oceania paused, taking in the situation a bit more thoughtfully. The nocturne now looked rather pathetic, knocked onto the ground and covered in snow with a hurt expression on her face. Upon closer inspection, the cloak she wore was in tatters, and the bones were chipped in various places.
If she had been part of that group Seraph spoke of, then...
Oh dear.

"Stranger," Oceania carefully approached, serving as a huge contrast to the pearlcatcher who was currently vibrating with anger. "What is your name?"

The remaining Icicle hesitated.
"...Sunflower."

"Sunflower," Oceania echoed. "Do you need someplace to stay?"

"What?!" Vex balked, turning to the skydancer with bewilderment. "She attacked me!"

"Well, if what Seraph said is right, her entire clan is dead," Oceania stated bluntly, causing Sunflower to flinch back. "She's hardly a threat in this state. I think it'd be better to help her."

"I-I am a threat!" Sunflower argued. "I was -- I am part of the most diabolical, ruthless clans in the Icefields!"

"Well, then perhaps your ferocity could be of use here," Oceania reasoned, flicking her tail towards the cave entrance. "You never know when we'll need someone more competent than Vex."

"Hey!"

There was a reluctant pause from Sunflower as she considered her options. The three guards returned her stare expectantly, one of which being far more agitated than the others.
Finally, after a few moments, she conceded with a small nod.

"...Okay," She mumbled. "B-but when you least expect it, I'll--!"

"Blast us into smithereens or something, yes, I'm sure," Oceania chuckled turning away to let the nocturne follow them. "Now come on. Let's get you into the inn. Veles will cook you up something nice."
bonus:

"Bones!" Seraph exlaimed. "That was it, right? The I Spy answer?"

"What? No," Oceania responded. "I didn't even know she was there, obviously I didn't 'spy' bones. The answer was ice, you doofus."

"ICE?" Seraph let out an exasperated shout. "Ice isn't even white! It's off-blue! Like Vex's scales!"

"Matter of opinion."

"It is NOT."
