SCONES(recipe from a site called taste)

ingredience: 3 1/2(595g) cups self-raising flour(the one that has a rising agent added to it already), 2 tbsp caster sugar, 60g butter, chopped, 1 1/2 cups buttermilk(350ml)

1.5 times this recipe uses more or less as much buttermilk as you get from using 1 liter of whipping cream to make butter btw
You can put grated cheese and some herbs in the dough to make em savory (herbly trinity)

Step 1
Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C fan-forced(i used fan forced). Grease and flour a 8cm-deep, 19cm (base) square cake pan.
Step 2
Place flour, sugar and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Add butter. Using fingertips, rub butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Step 3
Make a well in the centre. Add buttermilk. Using a flat-bladed knife(you might end up having to put your hands in tho), stir until dough almost comes together. Place on a lightly floured surface.
Step 4
Knead gently until dough comes together(dont knead a lot). Press out to a 3cm-thick round(a bit less is ok). Dip a 5cm round cutter into flour to prevent dough sticking. Cut out scones. Gently press leftover dough pieces together and repeat to make a total 16 scones.
Step 5
Place scones in prepared pan with baking paper. The recipe says to bake for 15 minutes but its really like 8 or until light golden and hollow when tapped on top.
